There is speculation that Arsenal players have been told by the Board that when the season resumes they MUST qualify for the Champions League, or face taking a pay-cut ! The players are said to be furious. What do you guys think?

@jurgenklopp If it isn't in their contracts they shouldn't take a pay-cut. The board clearly knows they are setting the team up for failure. After Emery got sacked they should let this season be a trial to allow Arteta to learn more about his squad and get a better understanding. The board won't benefit for adding unnecessary pressure on the squad

Yeah literally

Why should they take pay cuts, so the board save some money? What are they gonna do with the money

And now mezut ozils getting stick for not taking the pay cut, but i trust him more to do good with the money than arsenal fc ?

Just to add..

Arsenal snaked Ozil when he was raising awareness about China's ill treatment of the muslims in concentration camps, a noble cause from any means.

I don't see why Ozil should have any sympathy for the board in this climate.

@m-tawofi True and to add to your point Arsenal are the biggest thieves in the premier league . They’ve had the most expensive season ticket for over a decade . And all that match day income isn’t being spent anywhere notable so why does the board need to cut wages

wdym not being spent anywhere notable

they literally bought 2nd most expensive player in 2019 summer transfer in premier league and have the highest wage bills

@ethandakeed My g they bought pepe in instalments . 5 mil a year I think . That’s embarrassing . And one signing doesn’t justify 10 years of stinginess. They’re buying some unknown Brazilian farmers to play at centre back whereas teams around them are going out buying top players like Maguire . And in terms of highest wage bill that’s not an excuse . You have a sponsorship on your stadium, have one of the highest match day incomes, not to forget the premier league tv money around £100mil and many other shirt sponsorships. Arsenal just funds LA Rams in the NFL

@m-tawofi Word Ozil was actually raising awareness but the Arsenal board didn’t stand by him it really shows that money is more important to them. Btw Ramadhan Mubarak if you’re fasting.

If arsenal want to get champions league football then they should invest the money and buy the players.... not punish the current ones. Thats like telling off a 4 year old because he doesn't know algebra

If their current contract hasn’t explicitly mentioned the set objective of champions league, the players should not take a pay cut. Once their contract finishes it’s then the board and manager that can try to convince the players to stay despite being paid less.
