Hello,
Please post your questions and we will answer them
(a) In position A there is a store of elastic energy. Postion C is the person's maximum height. Describe the energy transfers from position A, through position B, to position C.
A teacher used the equipment in the figure below to demonstrate the motor effect.
(a) Describe how fleming's left-hand rule can be used to determine the direction in which the rod will move when the switch is closed, and state the direction.
(b) Increasing the current can increase the force acting on the copper rod. Give on other way in which the size of the force acting on the copper rod could be increased.
A baby monitor has a sensor unit that transfers an image of the baby and the noiseless the baby makes to a monitor unit. The monitor unit displays an image of the baby and emits the noises the baby makes.
(a) Compare the properties of the waves that transmit images and noises from the monitor unit.
(b) The sensor unit can etect infrared and visible light. Suggest one advantage of being able to detect infrared
a Note was played on an electric keyboard. The frequency of the note was 440 Hz.
(a) (i) What does a frequency of 440 Hz mean?
(ii) The sound waves produced by the keyboard travel at a speed of 340 m / s.
Calculate the wavelength of the note. Give your answer to three significant figures.
The diagran shows apparatus set up by a student. Closing the switch creates a force that acts of the wire XY. (a) (i) Explain why a force acts on the wire XY when the switch is closed.
(ii) The force causes the wire CY to move. Draw an arrow on the diagram above to show the direction in which the wire CY will move. (iii) State the effect that this experiment demonstrates
28 The diagram shows the stages of an extreme sport called 'human catapult'.
A person lies in a cradle which is held to the ground.
The cradle is released.
The person is launched vertically into the air by an elastic rope.
The person then parachutes back to the ground.
(d) The vertical velocity of the person at position B in the diagram is 26 m/s. The vertical velocity at position C is 0 m/s Calculate the distance between position B and position C. Ignore the effect of their resistance.
Use the Physics Equations Sheet.
(ic) Another fisherman comes to help pull the boat. Each fisherman pulls with a force of 300 N, as shown in Diagram 2. Diagram 2 is drawnto scale. Add diagram 2 to show the single force that has the same effect as the two 300 N forces. Determine the value of this resultant force.
(b) Figure 3 shows a different arrangement for tohe wooden blocks. A block was placed in position A and an identical block was placed in position B at the same time. Explain why the tower did not fall over. You should include reference to moments in your answer
(d) Since 1965, all cars manufactured for use in the UK must have seat belts. It is safer for a car driber to be wearing a seat belt, compared with not wearing a seat belt, if the car is involved in a collision. Explain why.
(e) The skater stands still on the ice. He throws his bag to a friend. As he throws his bag forwards, the skater moves backwards across the ice. Use the idea of conservation of momentum to explain why he moves backwards.
These are all the questions i'm stuck on
Thanks,
I will get the answers to you soon.
