I just want to double check my method
In this question 5 as you can see from my working I have found an expression for “a” now in order to find a I just want to double check that there are two ways to find a: I could now take everything to the power of 3 or I could binomially expand right?
Binomially expanding it would be fine, equalling it to = 0, then solving.
However, cube rooting both sides has no problems either - so expanding it would be a bit pointless (in this question)
You might think that you will lose solutions - however you only lose solutions if you divide by something important. Square rooting and cube rooting doesn't lose any solutions.
How would u show that the left hand side can be arranged to the rhs (in exact form), I’m stuck in the bit after substituting the limits in and simplifying it so it is in exact form
