not the same numbers but same question

Because you know line L, you just need to work out perpendicular gradient of L, then subbing that new gradient into y = mx + c. Then for c you need a point on the line (A is easiest to find). To find A, use the fact that going left and up from B to E is the same going left and up from E to A.

@shehryariftikhar

800 pins = £1040. He’s spent 1040 of his own money on 800 pins

B5A0E0F7 F6AB 4CCB 988D 542859345C16

now you need to calculate what he does with the pins. Straight away he gives 25% of it to the charity, which is 200 pins which originally costed him £260

14A8C92D 8051 470A A0C5 1ECC1306FD01

then with the 600 pins left, hr sells 70% for 2.50, the has the deal of £5 for 3 for the rest.

work out how much money he makes from that

31E2F26D A1CF 4E89 AD7E FD7EE2EC270F

This calculation will give you his profit

F95027AA 62D2 458D B197 01EA1E50EE26

then this calculation will give you the percentage profit

this question is a product rule for courting question. If you don’t understand this solution please watch our lesson on it ( https://examqa.com/school/week-1/classroom-c/maths2403/ )

number of different combinations of picking 3 coins:

E4A77DAD B52A 4544 B99D D10B1A9C94BD

number of different ways of getting £2:

1C57F2B8 43B5 45A7 90D7 6C9960C2B691

final probability:

Yes, it looks like I forgot to mention something.

you need to times the final answer by 3

This is because the 3 ways of getting £1, 50p and 50p are:

£1, 50p, 50p

50p, £1, 50p

50p, 50p, £1

3 different ways, so 1/10 x 3

If I had these 2 similar shapes, what would you say x equals?

image

Simple right?

Using the exact same logic, this type of question should be very easy too

image

Apply the same logic to the question you have

To obtain the shaded region, you need to work out the angle theta

image

The only way to work out theta, is by working out the length of that red line i drew on. Now to work out the length of that red line, use the angle and lengths of the triangle on the left.

To work out x below, what trig rule would you use?

image

Say for example, you worked out x to be "10", you may now use that with the triangle on the right to find out the angle theta. How would work out theta after having three sides of the triangle known?

image

Once you've worked out theta, you can use the theta / 360 x pi r^2 for area of a sector
